Early Life[]
Born in 1960 to Lucas Gordon and Linda Hewitt, James proved from early age his interest in following his father's steps: Becoming a member of the Gotham City Police Department. After finishing high school and already involved romantically with Barbara Kinter (who would later become his wife), Jim enlists in the force. After graduating he quickly becomes disapointed by the degree of corruption among his colleagues. However, he becomes determined to do his job right.
